Our New Ride

After Mila was added to our family, we decided to get a mini van. It is the practical choice for us and Zavier just loves it and I do too!

Here is a picture of Zavier with his wireless headset on enjoying a movie while Jared and I enjoy the radio. He thinks he is hot stuff with his new headphones!!

Apple Picking

This is our first year taking the kids apple picking and Zavier couldn't have had more fun! We had a kind of bad weather day, it was sprinkling and cold the whole time but Zavier certainly didn't notice. He loved pulling the apples off the trees.

We went to Jonomac Orchard just outside DeKalb and they have so much for kids to do. After apple picking Zavier went on a pony ride, played in a corn crib, learned how to pump water with an old fashioned pump, climbed on hay bales and played on a tube slide. Needless to say, he was pooped by the time we left.

Zavier's First Race!

The Plainfield Harvest Fest 5K was so much fun for me and Jared's mom to watch this year. Steve and Jeremy along with Jared pushing Zavier in his first race all participated. Zavier was so surprised when Jared asked him if he wanted to be in the race. Of course he said yes immediately but I don't think he fully understood what that meant. I was so happy to see them doing something like this together - great daddy and son time!

Jared and Zavier finished in 22 minutes even, Jeremy finished in 27 minutes 24 seconds and Steve finished in 33 minutes and 41 seconds. Great job everyone!!

Zavier and Sally and I had made all three racers home made metals the week before the big race and he was excited to hand them out. Jared has his hanging at work on his computer - I think it's one of his favorite gifts from Zavier.
